Under the new education policy, many important changes have been made in the recruitment process of teachers. The main objective of these changes is to improve the quality of teachers and encourage deserving candidates.

Some of the major changes are as follows:

Qualification: Now to become a teacher, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject as well as B.Ed. or M.Ed. Must also obtain a degree.
Examination: Along with the written examination, candidates will also have to qualify the Teaching Eligibility Test (TET).
Merit: Merit list will be prepared on the basis of written examination and TET marks.
Interview: Candidates included in the merit list will be called for interview.
Experience: For some posts, candidates may also be required to have prior experience in teaching.
Age Limit: For most of the posts, the age limit of the candidates has been fixed at 30 years.
Reservation: Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC) and Disabled candidates will be reserved as per government rules.
